pre 10 yrs reunion entry part 2
thanks to hairi plak, yang telah menyumbangkan 4 cents (bak kata dia) dengan memberi idea demi idea. so here go both plan a and plan b. plan c kalo ada sesapa nak kasik pon silakan, ehem.
plan a (outdoor @ langit cerah tanpa hujan):
1. bola sepak pantai (weh...main bola sepak bleh ramai2 sepak banding volleyball)
2. volleyball pantai (kalo korum yang ada takat 6 orang jer..)
3. galah panjang (ada terfikir itu hari, seronok gak neh, terhegeh2 dah tua2 main galah, hahah)
4. main pasir e.g buat istana pasir (errrr, lame sangat ke idea neh? hahaha)
5. main baling selipar (sumer orang sila pakai selipar occay?)
6. main teng teng (errrr, comel sangat ah main teng teng, tp slamberrr)

by the way, i also have some ideas on the souvenier. yerlaa, takkan nak pergi takdo souvenier lak kan? takder plak kenang2an for our reunion neh. setakat neh ini jer aku terfikirkan:
1. tangkap gambo sumer orang yang hadir, edit tulis2 skets perkataan seperti "10 years reunion of batch of 96", cuci and frame..kasik kat sumer yang hadir
2. keychain (lame lame lame, tapi blasah jerla)

anyway, setelah plan selambak2 neh, cam tak cukup lak nak rm20 sorang. anyhow, kalo ramai yang datang, aku rasa bleh laaa nak kowtim apa2 ke. soooooooooo, kalo ada sesapa yang berezeki lebih itu, yang terasa nak kasik sumbangan lebih itu, adalah sangat2 kami alu2kan. yerlaa, bila lagik nak belanja kawan2 kan? nih pon some sort of belanja kawan2 gak nih, hehehehhe.

preparation list for 10 years reunion
as you go through the list, kalo ada sesapa nak volunteer on any task itu, adalah sangat digalakkan. part2 pembelian, akan dibincangkan lebih lanjut dengan pihak ajk tertinggi terutamanya bendahari projek. maybe part beli2 bleh dibuat oleh ajk tertinggi je kot dengan bantuan aku yang suka shopping ini, yehaaaa, hehehhehe. but then, the rest of the list is fair game. sila laa mengvolunteer ek, hehehhe.
so here go:
preparation for bbq/makan2:
1. tempat bbq -> umie
2. arang + fire starter
3. beli + proses + perap ayam + daging -> ayoi kzie co
4. masak air + air gula -> ayoi kzie co
5. masak mee goreng -> muna
6. masak bihun goreng
7. kek gitu2 -> um2u
things to buy:
1. frankfurter/sosej/daging hotdog
2. gula
3. aluminium foil
4. arang +fire starter

pre 10 yrs reunion entry part 1
but we have each other. and with only this promise, i do hope most of us will be there.
we'll make the reunion fun coz we have each other. being the person who loves to plan, my head is jammed with though after thougt, plan after plan for the renunion. hey, knowing that we will have bbq by the sea pon sudah cukup mengujakan saya, hehehhe. and i know, some of us are more concern about the activities berbanding some of us yang tak kisahlah apa2, jumpa kengkawan jer dah fun.
so far, pihak penganjur yang menyediakan tempat telah plan2 untuk mengadakan sessi karaoke. how he will accomplish that, kita serahkan ajer kepada dia. aku plak telah mencadangkan kepada ajk tertinggi untuk bermain bola sepak pantai. i think that activity will amuses most boys and the girls yang nak join in bleh join, tak pun join jadik pom2 girls also can. terlintas kat fikiran nak cadangkan main bola beracun, as my colleagues did when kitorang wat aktiviti sosial itu ari, but then since kita akan beraktiviti di waktu malam, tak sesuai sangat kot. kang bola campak jauh sangat malas nak carik, hahahha. pihak ajk tertinggi pon raised the issue of malam yang gelap to me. i assured him by saying kita bleh menggunakan emergency lamp. hey, jangan gelak, kuat tau cahaya emergency lamp aku tuh. but i think we need more than 1 laa. sesapa yang ada emergency lamp lagik? register skets kat aku.
since pihak ajk tertinggi pon ada beberapa kerat ajer, dan sungguh tak menang tangan, i think kita2 ini bleh menghulurkan bantuan seadanya. part2 planning nehla yang slalu tak cukup kaki tangan nak kerjakan. okay, what we can do? ok, meh kita discuss satu2. i'll be making entry2 sampaila abes kita discuss sumer menda yang teringat, part by part. at least kurang skets bebanan pihak ajk tertinggi kan?
memula neh kita discuss food. we will have bbq, sebab bbq itu adalah tajuk utama kan. ayoi cakap ari tuh, dia plan untuk bbq ayam, skits daging, frankfurter/sosej/daging hotdog. pehtu aku gatal2 maukan sotong and pichie maukan udang, hahahha. we even thought of bbq ikan, n jadik ikan bakar plak, but then ayoi kata kalo ada ikan kena ada nasik. i even sembang2 sama ummu ari tuh and terpk nak bbq jagung laaa, keledek laaa, huii sedapnyaaa. macam2 laa nak bbq padahal kutip pun baru rm20 sorang, hahahhaha. makanya, ari tuh aku cakap sama pichie, maybe seafood neh kita bleh buat as sampingan. means tak perlu lagik seafood masuk main budget kita. on the 16th tuh, datang2 sana awal, hopefully ada duit persiapan yg berbaki, then tak cukup kita collect about rm10 ke sorang lagik to buy the seafood, then ajak orang pd g serbu nelayan, hahahhaha.
itu hal bbq. takkan nak makan bbq ajer kan? apa cadangan korang? should we have spagetti ke? or should we have nasi putih ajo makan ngan all the bbq stuffs ke? or should we have mee goreng ke? mind u, this is the dish yang untuk kasik kenyang laa. takkan nak makan daging jer kan? fine for some people, tapi ada orang tak kenyang nak makan bbq jer, hehehe. ke nak buat mashed potato (sapa reti/rajin neh? hahaha).
some of us dah side2 plan dah to menyumbangkan makanan samping2an seperti buah2 laaa. coleslaw laaa. apa2 laa. i even terpk nak menyumbangkan karipap sardin. tapi tuh terpk jerlaaa, tatau ah sempat ke tak, hehehehe.
sila2, kasik cadangan anda. nanti dah puas ati kita move kepada perkata kedua plak.

welcome to the superunknown
Hmm.. After I have read um2u's post back there, i felt speechless.. byk org gile kat lam dunia ni.. many people had become extremists..
but my post here is not about all the sad things in life .. Just a review on jalan2 .. I think we should put this under the category of jalan2 & makan2... now comes my review of the Niah Caves (for those who wanted to be smelled like bat dungs @ guano..ehehe!)
Niah?? Why do I have to go there?
- The oldest modern human remains in South East Asia was discovered HERE.
- Two (2) of the caves are gazzeted as National Historic Monuments (Great Cave & Painting Cave)
- U wanna see people hanging / abseiling on the top of the caves to get birds nest?
- U wanna see the bats? LOTSA BATS..
- Or u are bored suddenly u wanted to become an adventurer / cave dweller...
How to get there?
The easiest way is you board a plane bound for Miri or Bintulu (Kuching is a hell lot farther than this two places). Take a bus from Bintulu (Rm30++) or Miri Bus Station (Rm 20++) to Batu Niah (the transit town to go in Niah National Park). As buses don't go inside until the park HQ, u have to take taxis or prebet sapu at Batu Niah. Fees range from RM 20-30 per cab. Otherwise, it would be better if u rent a car from Miri or Bintulu as the journey will only take you half day (5 hours driving from Miri/Bintulu to Park HQ & back). Prices range depending on what type of car you're planning to rent. A Wira would cost you around 60-80 bucks a day.
Batu Niah is a typical transit town where you can get ur makan here.. alot of places or warungs as choices.. There's even a day market which sells veges, local fruits & at one time there's people selling ular sawas n tenggilings.. Exotic!
What's there anyways?
After your long journey, you will be greeted by the Park HQ for registration (RM 15 for adult, RM8 for students carrying IDs). After that, you will proceed to the river bank to ride a boat to the other side. RThe river only about 20-30 metres far from bank to bank. You will have to pay RM1 for each ride you take (and u basically need to ride it 2 times, pergi n balik). Quite expensive if I may say so.. The river ride is not THAT far even.
When u reached the other side, u will be starting your journey already. The first site that you will see is the Archeological Museum (in my case I'd visit the museum later, because the main attractions are the caves themselves). You will be walking on wooden planks which will be very slippery when wet. I was practically struggling and almost sprained my ankle as the wooden planks there was covered with moss. So, bring your best sport shoes when walking on the planks. The journey from the riverbank to the first cave would take you around 45 mins or an hour if you spend a lot of time admiring nature. The first cave is like a hall, where the cave wall is covered by practically green moss. Even there was this lines which looked like lines for a volleyball court at the centre of the caves. I bet the locals staying nearby used this place for sukaneka @ annual sports meet. After the first cave you will see the archeological digging site on your left. I asked the park HQ regarding this site, and they said that there are a certain week in a year that the archeologist will come and inspect the sites for any new findings. Whenever that time comes, the park wouldn't be open for visitors. The same goes for best nests picking, there are a certain period where the abseilers could not pick up bird nests as that is the mating season. So they will not allow those abseilers to go and pick up the nests. BTW, they only can pick up the empty nests only.
The Rest Area (where the sign in my pic up there is located) is a downslope of sandy area before you will be going in the dark caves (Padang, Burnt Caves & Moon Caves). You can have your rest here if you wanted to, because there is a big hut located in this area. After that, you will proceed up the wooden planks tangga with iron handrails (its a good measure to bring gloves as the handrails are covered in guano). Kalau xfit mcm aku.. mmg hampir putus nafas naik tangga ni.. seriously.. and it is a long trail of tangga from there going to the dark caves.. believe me.. naik Batu Caves pun xsemput mcm ni...
After the turun naik tangga.. you will reach the first caves which is only lit up by your flashlights (eh.. did i mentioned that u have to bring one? hahaha.. u can rent from the Park HQ if u had forgotten to bring one). It is really dark in there.. so watch ur steps.. There are a few smaller caves down here too, but you wont even recognize it as they're all are connected.. Some places have lights that penetrated the holes on the ceiling of some of the caves.. Picture time!! Then after about 15 mins in the darkness there will be light again at the end of the caves.. Another resting place for me.. Thank god!
The last cave would be the Painting Cave which is around 10 mins from the resting hut.. In this cave, you will find .. what else.. paintings.. I tried to look & examine the paintings on the wall of the caves, alas, I cannot comprehend satu painting pun.. There are some death-ships (keranda looking like a sampan) in that area too. The place gave out an eerie aura for me.. Heeeee....
There's a rest area osso here.. Take some pics & basically that is the end of the journey. You will walk back from the way you came in to the park HQ. All in all its around 3 hours of caves exploring fun!!
Now, pat yourself on the back and say that I have conquered Niah.. or Niah had conquered u.. Haha! Till then.. Jya ne!
